Summer Fun

Welcome to the June Carnival of Natural Parenting: Outdoor fun

This post was written for inclusion in the monthly Carnival of Natural Parenting hosted by Hobo Mama and Code Name: Mama. This month our participants have shared their stories and tips for playing outside with kids. Please read to the end to find a list of links to the other carnival participants.

One of our favorite summer activities....going to the beach!
We went there to play and relax. I never get tired of walking up to that boardwalk, and looking at that big beautiful ocean. It always takes my cares away.
It's so beautiful and peaceful.

The girls have been asking to go to the beach since the weather warmed up, and while the water isn't exactly warm enough, we still played in it for a bit.
We told Nakiah we would take her after her cast came off, but we found a remedy for that. She can't wait to go back after the cast comes off.

Hope you enjoy the pics as much as we enjoyed being there.

Playing in the sand, building sand castles, digging holes, walking the beach, tracing our footprints, finding shells, chasing crabs. We even saw dolphins at one of the beaches last summer.
We can watch the boats go by, people watch, play and relax.
I imagine we'll spend a lot of time at the different beaches this summer.

  1. Oh, aren't beaches the greatest! Thanks for sharing all your pictures (and for participating in the carnival after just having a baby!!!). Your beautiful photos make me want to go play where you are. :)

  2. We took Kieran to several beaches when we visited Orlando last fall. He had a *blast.* It definitely helped that Tom turned into a very large kid - they did many of the same things your kids enjoyed. I wish we lived closer to a beach, it is one of my favorite places to visit!

  3. I grew up within walking distance of the beach. Even though I don't crave being there, I do miss being able to go whenever I feel like it. I look forward to introducing my son to building sandcastles.

  4. Gorgeous pictures! We still haven't taken the girls to the beach yet. Too bad the ones closest to us are being ruined by oil. :(

  5. We love to play at the beach, even when it is too cool to go in the water. Beachcombing and building sandcastles are so much fun.

We have mountain water here, so it will be a while, yet! :) It's barely-melted snow, at the moment!!
